Tim Davies
Tim qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 and was admitted to the Institute of Taxation in 1985. Prior to the formation of Davies Mayers in March 1992, he was in charge of the KPMG taxation practice in Cheltenham, following a thirteen year career with the firm in both their Birmingham and Cheltenham offices. Tim specialises in providing taxation and commercial advice to clients based heavily around corporate transactions. He heads up the firm's advisory services and has advised on numerous high profile transactions in the owner managed sector, as well as producing strategic input to the firm's client base.

Nigel Barnett
Nigel qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1979 whilst employed by the Birmingham office of KPMG. Following 3 years as an Audit Manager at KPMG he joined a local firm of accountants. In 1984 he set up his own practice which expanded to be the largest sole practitioner in the area. Nigel provides a very efficient service to all sectors of the business community. Following the merger with Davies Mayers & Partners, Nigel is responsible for the Private Business Department, and continues to provide an efficient service together with commercial advice to the private business client.

Nick Mayers
Nick qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 having trained with KPMG London. After qualifying, he spent some time in London working in industry before returning to the profession as an Audit Manager with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in Gloucester. Nick moved to Cheltenham in 1988 to take charge of the Audit Department of the local KPMG office. Nick maintains a large portfolio of clients and specialises in providing all-round business advice to the owner-managed business sector. He heads up the firm's due diligence and forensic accounting services.

Nikki Smith
Nikki qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 whilst employed by the Cheltenham office of KPMG. She joined Davies Mayers on its formation in March 1992 and took responsibility for establishing the firm's audit and assurance systems. In addition to maintaining her own large portfolio of clients, Nikki is the partner responsible for training and staff development and for developing the firm's assurance procedures. Nikki also heads up the firm's specialist team that deals with Charities and not for profit organisations.

Mark Minchella
Mark originally joined the firm at its inception in April 1992 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. Shortly afterwards Mark left the firm to specialise in corporate finance work with Grant Thornton, primarily involved in company disposals, management buy-outs, debt and equity fund raising, due diligence work (for both banks and venture capitalists) and company flotation work for both AIM and the Official List. In August 2006 Mark rejoined the firm with the remit to develop the corporate finance services offered to our client base and to increase our transactional driven activity.

Juliet Chance
A former Inspector of Taxes who after 17 years service left the Inland Revenue in 1987 to join the accountancy profession. After a 2 year period with Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Juliet joined KPMG in Cheltenham to take on the running of the Personal Tax Department. An expert in many areas of personal taxation with over thirty years experience, Juliet provides an extensive range of personal tax services to the client and is considered by her peers to be a leading practitioner in her field.

Claire Clift
Claire joined the firm in November 1995 following her qualification as a Chartered Accountant with a local firm of accountants. She has also been promoted through the ranks to Audit Manager where she is responsible for day to day contact with numerous clients. Her specialism includes group accounting and the accounting of pension fund accounts.

Cheryl Millar
Cheryl trained with a local firm of accountants. In 1984 she joined Nigel Barnett & Co as the Practice Manager. She has a vast experience in dealing with sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies. Cheryl now manages the Private Business Department.

Kate Plummer
Kate has specialised in tax since starting her career with Coopers & Lybrand in 1992. Since then she has worked for several Group A firms where she has gained a wide range of experience. This, combined with her breadth of technical qualifications, enables her to see client's issues on the whole rather than from a purely tax driven perspective. At Davies Mayers Barnett, Kate focuses on providing practical tax advice to clients on all aspects of their personal and company issues.

Karen O'Brien
Karen joined the firm in August 1992 as an Audit Junior, qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1997. She has been promoted to Audit Manager and is responsible for day to day contact with numerous clients. Her specialism includes group accounting and solicitors' accounting rules compliance.

Rob Hull
Rob joined Davies Mayers in March 1999, after training with a large local firm. Since joining the firm, Rob completed his ACCA qualification and has been promoted through the ranks to Audit Manager. He also specialises in group accounting and is responsible for the affairs of a wide variety of clients.

Lisa Oliveri
Lisa joined the firm in September 2001 after training with Hazlewoods in Gloucester. She became a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians in 2005 and has since been promoted to manager of our personal tax department.
