A tailored approach to compliance
We’ll listen to you
At Davies Mayers Barnett we believe we are different from other accountancy practices. Our first step is to listen closely to gain a full understanding of your business. We then tailor our approach, providing specialist skills that enable you to concentrate on the bigger picture.
Knowledge is power
Accurate, up to date financial information is vital to the success of your business. We will discuss your requirements with you and provide you with the financial and budgetary information you need, when you need it.
Adding value to the audit process
If you are legally obliged to have your accounts audited, we will add value to the process by reviewing your financial and management systems to identify potential business risk areas. Businesses which do not require a statutory audit may elect to have their financial statements audited in specific situations. These could include the lead up period to a future sale of the company or at the request of its financial backers. Some shareholders may consider an independent check essential and can choose either a full statutory audit or a selective audit carried out on certain aspects of the balance sheet. At the very least businesses will need to have their management accounts converted into statutory account format in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and the Companies Act and may not have the in house expertise to do this.
Converting tax compliance into business benefit
As the number of compliance visits and investigations continue to rise our specialist knowledge is critical if you are to avoid unnecessary liabilities and harsh penalties.
The Davies Mayers Barnett tax team includes highly experienced Chartered Tax Advisers and former Inland Revenue and Customs officials. We will act as your tax agent preparing, submitting and negotiating agreement of your tax liabilities. We can also ensure that you have appropriate systems in place to avoid PAYE, NI and VAT non-compliance. Our specialist skills will give comfort to senior management and allow them to concentrate on running the business.
The Companies Act
With company legislation changing at the rate it does, you need to be sure you are fully aware of how these changes may affect you and your fellow officers. Davies Mayers Barnett can provide a range of Company Secretarial services such as company formations, annual returns and, where appropriate, the preparation of minutes and resolutions.
Outsourcing solutions
Whether you are an established business looking to outsource some functions or a growing business looking for an interim service, we can help - from bookkeeping and data entry to the preparation of any statutory returns and training your staff to use accountancy software.
We can also provide a comprehensive and confidential payroll function via a flexible service matched to your business needs.
