Bottle Green Drinks

Bottle Green LogoHusband and wife team Kit and Shireen Morris built a successful soft drinks business Bottle Green Drinks from its start-up in 1989 to a turnover of £7m in 2007, when they sold the company in a private equity-backed management buyout.

Davies Mayers Barnett started working with Kit and Shireen in 1993. The firm took them through initial incorporation and key growth phases until the company was in an optimum position to be sold. During that time Kit and Shireen established significant property interests as an alternative to a pension and as a diversification from the core business.

Services provided by the Davies Mayers Barnett team to Bottle Green Drinks include:

  • Specialist knowledge to maximise tax benefits on incorporation and minimise tax on ultimate exit.
  • Property tax skills applicable to managing their property portfolio tax effectively.
  • Negotiating and arranging an Employee Management Incentive arrangement to retain and motivate key staff.
  • Financial and business skills to advise on the company's growth strategy, including raising finance.
  • Dealing with a number of potential buyers before finally agreeing on the appropriate exit.
  • Negotiating skills to deal with the terms of the final exit. Audit compliance.

Kit and Shireen Morris said: "Tim Davies and his team have been absolutely fantastic throughout the 18 years we've worked with the firm. Tim has not only been our accountant, he's acted as a sounding board, held our hands throughout and been instrumental in helping with the development of the business. We can't recommend him highly enough."
