Leeways Packaging Services Ltd

Tony Walding inherited Leeways, a vacuum forming and contract packaging business, when his father died at a young age. The Group has subsequently grown substantially and developed into a thermoforming packaging specialist, mostly supplying the food sector, with a turnover in 2007 of £7.6m.

Davies Mayers Barnett began working with Leeways in 1993. Tony was keen to work with a firm that would provide sound strategic business advice and he felt that the service offered by Davies Mayers Barnett would be both pro-active and personal.

The firm has advised Tony on many tax related matters and other projects, including:

• Forming a tax-efficient group for his trading companies
• Restructuring property interests, moving some into a Self Administered Personal Pension
• Advising on a potential major acquisition
• Liquidating a subsidiary in a tax-efficient manner
