New Brewery Arts
New Brewery Arts in Cirencester is Gloucestershire’s hub of visual and performing arts and crafts, inspiring learning and culture for the enrichment of all, regardless of age, ability or privilege. The centre is home to 18 resident artists, hosts arts and craft classes, exhibitions, theatre performances and has a thriving gallery gift shop and café.
Davies Mayers Barnett has worked with New Brewery Arts, which is a registered charity, since 1995. The organisation has grown considerably in size and scope since then, most notably in the last two years when it embarked upon a major £2.8m redevelopment of its premises, which was completed in spring 2008.
Davies Mayers Barnett provides New Brewery Arts with:
- Annual compliance services
- Ongoing financial advice - including specialist advice relating to its charitable status
Chief executive Ali Russell said: "Davies Mayers Barnett has helped us through some very complex issues, particularly during our recent developments, and been very supportive and knowledgeable throughout.
"As a charity with a trading arm, we require specialist advice and Davies Mayers Barnett's experience within this sector is invaluable. Not only do they have the technical expertise we need, but they are also responsive, diligent and, above all, very nice people to deal with. I have no hesitation in recommending them."
Emma Barker, finance manager, added: "With so many different activities going on at the Centre, we are a complex organisation for VAT purposes. Brewery Arts operates a Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM) and relies on the invaluable technical support provided by Davies Mayers Barnett's VAT advisory service."
